Biography

Sandra Lieners was born in Luxembourg in 1990. She currently lives and works in the Grand-Duchy. She attended the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and later studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence in the course of an exchange program.

Her paintings are featured in exhibitions since 2012 in Austria, Italy and Luxembourg, where her art is part of various private and public collections.

At first, the artist explored rather small formats while continuously expanding until using larger formats. Her art is often inspired by photographs taken by the artist himself, who enjoys mixing real-life situations with more abstract scenes. Sandra Lieners shows all of her talent with distortions, depth changes and interactions between sharp and blurry. She likes to display non-finished pictures in order to leave room for imagination, thus creating a synergy with the art, artist and observer.
