Se-Lyung MOON was born in Pusan, South Korea, and lives and works in Lorraine, France. As a visual artist, Se-Lyung MOON draws on the Bi-Jang-Mi aesthetic of beauty (from Korean: 비장미, 悲壯美), "beauty where the sublime resides in melancholy, the aesthetic that springs from great sadness". Her work as a whole often questions desire and fear, evoking the human condition and leading to a reflection on our existence. His existential research enables him to maintain a universal language. Her work is made up of paintings and extends to a diversity of forms and techniques, sculpture, installation, multimedia, etc. Her creation is informed by her Asian culture through confrontation and sharing with a Western culture. She exhibits her work in France and abroad.
