Christian Wilmes
Christian Wilmes was born in Luxembourg in 1981, and trained in art and design at the ESAD (école supérieure d'art et de design) in Amiens.
In 2003, he began working as a graphic designer in Lille and Paris. He joined in 2008 an American fashion trendsetter in New York and Paris, as a graphic designer, then as a beauty photographer. It was at this point of his career Christian Wilmes decided to devote himself entirely to photography.
Since 2011, he has focused on fashion photography and advertising portraiture. His keen sense of aesthetics has enabled him to work with some of the world's leading brands.
Based in Luxembourg since 2013, Christian Wilmes is now exploring the world of art photography, gradually freeing himself from the codes of fashion photography. His sources of inspiration include photographers such as Patrick Demarchelier, Erwin Olaf and Peter Lindbergh.
