Camille Lazzari
Camille Lazzari was born in Luxembourg in 1990 and works between Luxembourg and Brussels. She holds a Master's degree in Visual Arts (specialising in Drawing) from the Ecole de Recherche Graphique in Brussels.
His practice generally takes the form of series of large-format drawings on rolls. His drawings of landscapes, architecture and nature bear witness to a certain amount of human intervention, and are the result of a creative process based on the retranscription of drawings made previously in a specific context, and on the recollection of details in the form of a montage.
Two processes that confront and complement each other: retracing the lines of a drawing made in a different time and context calls for a certain recollection of the gesture and an application that differs from its initial inscription, whereas in memory drawing, the space is digested and the framing filtered by a process of memory even before the image is produced. The drawing and its medium thus provide their own scale for measuring space and time.
The flow of thoughts and perceptions with which the artist is confronted during his experiences of place and displacement, as well as the memories born of this immersion, are re-evaluated through a reflection on their figuration.
